Specialty Genre Radio Promotion

The genres of music that the Specialty Department at Tinderbox promotes are Hip Hop, RPM (Electronic), New World, and Jazz. If you’re interested in pursuing radio promotion for any of these genres, please e-mail Jordan Young (Jordan@tinderboxmusic.com) with a submission containing a brief bio, information regarding the release you’re interested in promoting, links to where your music can be heard, and links to your social media pages. PLEASE NOTE: we only work substantial releases such as EPs or full-length albums; we do not work singles, compilations, or mixtapes*.

*Mixtape defined as re-using beats that belong to other artists while only providing original vocals.  Any “mixtape” that contains all original production may be considered for promotion.

Though we are well versed, knowledgeable, and experienced across all of these formats, we are especially well established in the Hip Hop circuit. We have an extensive listing of CMJ Hip Hop Chart placements, including multiple albums reaching #1 on the chart, and many others breaking the Top 5 and Top 10. Some of our most noteworthy Hip Hop clients include Nappy Roots, Grieves, CookBook and Evidence, Gangstagrass, Sadistik, Mega Ran, Raz Simone, Allan Kingdom, The Herbaliser, Lizzo, Cecil Otter, Psalm One, Ceschi, and more.

Jordan Young with Sadistik, Nappy Roots and Mega Ran

Client Reviews:

“I trusted Jordan and Tinderbox with what I felt was my best album yet, “RNDM.” They exceeded my expectations, taking the album to #1 on the CMJ Hip Hop Charts, the top 200 all genre chart, and even a spot on the Year End Chart. I wholeheartedly endorse and recommend Tinderbox to any artist looking to make a mark!”
– Mega Ran
@MegaRan

“I must say that the campaign itself, Tinderbox Music, and Jordan specifically, all exceeded my expectations.  Throughout the lead up, entire campaign, and since the campaign has ended, Jordan has been available and willing to share insight and advice that has helped our album and brand grow tremendously. The fact that we are still charting 12 weeks after the launch of our campaign is only the icing on the cake.  I look forward to working with Tinderbox on future albums and I predict big things in the future for Jordan.”

“We are so happy with everything Tinderbox has done for us within the radio campaign for Rheteric. I know we both learned a lot, and it gave us a ton of leads in areas that we otherwise wouldn’t have had that kind of exposure. I will be contacting you guys in the future about licensing opportunities and more radio campaigns. Thanks again Jordan!”

“Working with Tinderbox was amazing! This was my first radio campaign, and Jordan was incredibly knowledgeable and walked me through the whole thing step-by-step. What I really appreciated the most is that Jordan truly believed in my album, which was evident in the way he worked it to the stations. He really stayed on top of everything, and as a result I scored very high marks on the charts, for an extended period of time! I couldn’t be more satisfied. Thank you Jordan, and thank you Tinderbox Music!”

@ConradCliftonNY

“I definitely recommend Tinderbox and Jordan for a college campaign. They’re great to work with and produce results. My group ended up in the charts and that resulted in nationwide exposure and a chance to personally connect with every DJ and school that played us. We booked one gig at a nearby school almost immediately and are working on more. And as far as charting on CMJ that’s something that has really impressed people within the industry. It’s definitely the portal to the kids, which is the demographic we all need to get going and get a passionate fan base. So yea, I fux with Tinderbox and Jordan.”
-Bryce Alvord (of SoHo Kings)
@SohoKings

“Our relationship with Tinderbox has been both fruitful and effective in helping us get out on the road. Jordan is hard-working and tenacious. He’s not afraid to go to bat for the acts he’s promoting, and did a great job of keeping us informed throughout the campaign. We look forward to working with Tinderbox on our next release.”

“As we progress I realize more and more how cool it is to still be in the top 40 especially with not having a real label and promotions etc to back me like some of these guys do; I have you! So as always I appreciate the work you’re putting in brother. Much appreciated and let’s hope for a strong finish!”
